Practical infos

Who can join the competition? 2018

1.   The competition is exclusively accessible to students who are registered and attend piano lessons on a regular basis in academies of music, music schools and Arts High Schools (Conservatories) from Belgium and Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

2.   The Competition is not open to

• Students or former students of the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth,
• Students who only follow private lessons,
• Students who already hold a first Piano Master.

3.   The candidates are distributed in four age categories according to their teaching level and their age at the registration date.

• ACADEMY STUDENTS
  • Category A : Born after March 15, 2007
  • Category B : Born between March 16, 2003 and March 15, 2007
  • Category C : Born between March 16, 1998 and March 15, 2003

• CONSERVATORY STUDENTS
  • Category D : Born after March 15, 1993

4.  The students registered in a Conservatoire as «young talents» must register in Category D.

5.   The registration fee is 80 €.

Closing date for application: March 31, 2018

• Qualifying Rounds

           Friday May 11, 2018 from 9.00 to 18.00

           Saturday May 12, 2018 from 9.00 to 18.00 

           Sunday May 13, 2018 from 9.00 to 18.00

• Semi-finals

           Friday May 25, 2018 from 9.00 to 18.00

• Final Round

           Saturday May 26, 2018 at 14.00
